Haworth Inc. Integrated Palette 2008

In October 2003, I was appointed Manager of the Industrial Design Studio at Haworth. In this role, I led the strategic and creative development of the company's next-generation workplace platform while managing the design partnership with Studio & Partners in Milan, Italy.

As lead designer for the Integrated Palette initiative, I directed the development of a unified family of office systems, demountable walls, and architectural elements that could be configured into a broad range of workplace applications. Working closely with Perkins+Will in Chicago and cross-functional engineering, marketing, and product development teams within Haworth, our objective was to create a coherent design language that allowed products to work together seamlessly across the floorplate.

By 2008, the Integrated Palette had matured into a comprehensive platform. Haworth's internal design team was then entrusted with designing the company's NeoCon 2008 Chicago showroom, providing an opportunity to demonstrate the full capability of the system in a highly immersive environment. Rather than presenting individual products, the showroom illustrated how a unified design language could create sophisticated, flexible workplace environments through a single integrated palette.
